Rufy is DKE's soft, upholstered "embrace" chair — designed to wrap around the sitter rather than simply support them. It's found a natural home in co-working spaces and communal settings like library reading rooms, and architects who've seen it in person tend to spec it in without much persuading.
Split Backrest & Forward-Protruding Lumbar Support
The upper backrest uses a steel frame skeleton embedded in foam for sturdy support. Below it, an independent, low-density shaped lumbar cushion protrudes 3–5cm from the backrest's curved surface — factory-fit to order in a choice of foam densities. Together, this extends support down into the lumbosacral region, adapts to the spine's curve across different sitting postures, and spreads lumbar load to ease pressure on the intervertebral discs.
